This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Role Purpose

The Accounts Department are mainly responsible for providing cash management and producing scheme accounts for pension schemes.

To assist accountants with the accurate preparation and timely production of financial statements and annual reports on behalf of pension scheme clients.

Key Accountabilities

  • To assist senior colleagues in the preparation, production, and completion of the annual Trustees’ Report & Accounts for clients, this will involve:
  • Liaising with various third parties (i.e. investment managers, auditors and trustees).
  • Completing accounting and investment reconciliations to trial balance.
  • Producing the Trustees’ Report & Accounts adhering to SORP guidance to ensure financial reporting standards are met.
  • Utilising the workflow calendar or updating relevant spreadsheets (when applicable) to ensure all internal and external deadlines are met during the audit process.
  • Assist in ensuring the accounts are completed within the statutory deadline.
  • Assist with providing information to the actuaries for FRS102 figures.
  • Maintain an accurate record of time spent on client(s) where applicable.
  • To be flexible and provide other such support/duties as would reasonably be expected within the role.

Other accounting duties (office applicable):

  • Assist with updating bank and investment mandates on change of Trustee or investment provider as required.
  • Assist cash management team with maintaining and providing monthly cash flow statements to clients as required, to include six monthly forecasts.
  • Assist cash management team with loading payments to bank online system as and when required.
  • Assist cash management team with processing investments and disinvestments as and when required in line with current mandates.
  • 1st level approvers on banking portal.
  • Assist in completing quarterly Office for National Statistics (ONS) Surveys as and when required.
  • Checking direct credit entries in accounting software for a portfolio of scheme accounts.

Technical Knowledge and Professional Qualifications

  • Ability to prioritise workloads and deal with any urgent issues that arise.

  • Ability to build strong client relationships.

Required

  • Excellent Maths GSCE/A Level results.

Desirable

  • Educated to Degree Level standard or partly AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
